And we keep on pushing the sun

Maybe it could be the story that we are attached to without going back, or that innate custom of those born here to reinvent ourselves to face difficulties — whatever it may be — or the effort to know the continuity of so many who are no longer there, but Thinking about it, they are, because they left us the most important thing: their example.

Could our hand on the neighboring shoulder bother them , the laughter despite the sorrows or the longing for a future for our children in Cuba?

Perhaps they suffer from euphoria when they see us sharing bread and salt, or when we realize that not everything is achieved and sometimes we are wrong, it should even annoy them the fact that we save strangers in a distant country and baptize them as brothers, or enjoy our own coffee , of uncertain flavors, but always to order.

Now, as so many decades ago, they try to scare us, and they do so by avoiding the arrival in Cuban ports of the tankers; they brutally threaten the shipping companies, the governments where the ships that have businesses here are registered, and the insurance companies.

It is true , they tights the blockade. However, we breathe, and we sigh much more when listening to the top government direction explaining, step by step, a policy that surrounds us all, reminding us how much it saves us to be united, to be supportive, not to give up and go forward, with the impossible to take from a Cuban: our values.

The word block becomes the echo of days and nights, of those who still do not understand the justification of a northern giant with their sideways glance towards a small island.

But do not hesitate, we are able to return, as so many times, to write unique stories with the pulse of the people. Already the strengths of years blocked in almost all sectors have made us experiment, learn how to face such ignominy.

It is true, there are some skeptics and worried. Some laugh and know that this finishes : it is not a Special Period but a temporary situation, in which others enlarge the difficulties.

Meanwhile, the vast majority will get together on the side of those who get the best of their soul, to share optimism and tranquility, at the stop or corner, at the butcher shop or doctor office.

Let us show who we are inside! Perhaps a "bottle", a ladle of beans or a piece of bread, are the best formula to go on and keep on pushing the sun.
