Meeting on Agroecology, Organic and Sustainable Agriculture in the province of Artemisa

Artemisa, Cuba - The Cuban Association of Agricultural and Forestry Technicians holds the XIII Meeting on Agroecology, Organic and Sustainable Agriculture in the province of Artemisa, from September to October.
The meetings, to be held during this period, will take place at the Grain Research Institute, in Bauta; the Plant Health Institute, in Alquízar; the Tobacco Research Institute, in Ariguanabo; the Ecological Station, in Candelaria; and at the University of Artemisa.
The central theme of the event is "Local Agricultural Innovation Systems, Key to Municipal Self-Supply on the way to Cuban Food Sovereignty." It also aims to contribute to the priority objectives of agriculture in Cuba, with special attention to the Municipal Food Self-Supply Program.
All people linked to the agricultural sector find a space for reflection, exchange and participatory construction of proposals, for the development of a viable, environmental and socially fair agriculture. The exchanges at the municipal level will take place in the months of November and December, the provincial meeting in January 2020, and the national event in May.
