German company starts operating in Mariel Special Development Zone

Artemisa, Cuba - PASI Mariel Service, S.A. (PAMAS, S.A.) is the firth German firm established in the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZDEM).
According to the Zone’s website, the new investment from the European country will operate in the total foreign capital modality, and its main goal is to build a factory for the production and assembly of industrial valves, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, dynamic equipment and its components; as well as offering diagnostic services, repair, maintenance and training of technical personnel associated with these products.
The company, authorized for a period of 30 years, will use top notch technologies for the development of its productions and will use renewable energy sources for the generation of electricity.
With this new investment, 48 businesses have been approved since the creation of ZED Mariel and 21 countries are now represented in the strategic enclave for the Cuban economy.
