XIII Traditions Festival in Ariguanabo

San Antonio de los Baños celebrates its 225th anniversary. With this celebration, the Villa lives once again the Ariguanabense Culture Week.
The villagers of the Villa del Humor enjoyed the XIII Municipal Traditions Festival ''Nora Lloró''. The event took place at the Raymundo Valenzuela Culture House and was attended by artists from the municipality and Culture leaders in the province.
On the occasion of these celebrations, the Casa de Cultura Raymundo Valenzuela took his art to the Casa de los Abuelos in the Villa del Humor to award the prizes to the winners of the Traditions Festival (Traditional music of the Cuban countryside) ''Música Campesina''.
In Tonadas, Ana Laura Herrero Caballero was the winner; in Décima (Free Tenth), the prize went to Gregorio José González Martínez; In addition, a Special Recognition for the Los Corales quartet.
The jury of this event was made up of Enier Guerra Araujo, provincial music methodologist; Liset Mesa Hernández, Art Instructor of the José Martí Brigade, in San Antonio de los Baños; professional musicians Jorge Gácita Morales and René Fuentes, and Damaris Ordaz, director of the House of Culture.
Winners of the Illustrated Poetry contest were: Matilde Amparo López and Karel Hernández Mesa, from Ariguanabo, with the work ''Rio Ariguanabo''. In Popular and Traditional Crafts, a single prize was awarded to the artisan María Julia Luaces with the work “Carroza”.
The jury of the contest was integrated by the provincial methodologist of Plastic Arts, Boris Moreno Collado; the provincial methodologist of Literature, José Nápoles; and the Art Instructors of the José Martí Brigade in San Antonio de los Baños Lázaro González and Adonis Marquetti.
The Illustrated Poetry Exhibition was inaugurated, with the seven works that were in competition; and the exhibition of Popular and Traditional Crafts, with fifteen participating works.
The works will be exhibited in the House of Culture until October 18.
