Monument to the Anti-Imperialist Tribune

The place, where 18 years ago the Leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, delivered his historic speech against terrorism, hosted the inauguration ceremony of the monument, which pays tribute to this important event in San Antonio de los Baños.

More than 50 thousand people attended the Antimperialist Tribune held in San Antonio de los Baños on September 22, 2001. For the Ariguanabo it was an important event of the ''Battle of Ideas''; precisely the day on which the Villa was founded, in 1794.

During the event, José Miguel Delgado López, municipal historian, reviewed those moments at Villa San Antonio Abad, which this year celebrates its 225 years.

A group of young people received the membership card of the Young Communist League. The Municipal Party also incorporated into its organization other members, who contribute to the social and fair work of the Homeland.

The commitment to turn this place into a space for the formation and integral development of children, adolescents and young people was also ratified, as the Revolution demands.

The act was presided over by Juan Alberto Rodríguez Linares, first secretary of the municipal Party; Yadelkis Hernández Morales, president of the Municipal Assembly of People's Power; and Edelmo Figueroa Pérez, head of the Municipal Administration Council.

The event was attended by leaders of political, mass and administrative organizations, combatants, as well as members of the military sector and of the Ministry of Interior.
