Cuba’s long jumper qualifies top for final at Doha 2019

Doha - Cuban long jumper Juan Miguel Echevarria qualified top for the final in the Men's Long Jump tournament at the World Athletics Championshig which began Friday in Dona, Qatar.
"I am feeling very well. The Cuban team has arrived well prepared, and we want to produce good performance.... The weather was fine and the track is very fast for tomorrow's final", he told the championship’s Twitter team.
In his first jump, the 21 year-old athlete marked 8.40 meters, the longest ever jump in the qualifications rounds at the World Athletics Championship since 1999.
Cuba’s team to the Athletics elite tournament ins made up of 17 athletes .
According to Jorge Luis Aguilera Ruiz, the team’s head coach, "Everyone is in perfect condition and ready to face the event".
