Cuba gave another lesson of resistance, says Díaz-Canel

The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, affirmed that the population of the island gave a lesson of resistance to the world, given the complex situation with the supply of fuel, motivated by the intensification of the blockade of U.S. From this stage we come out stronger and with greater organizational capacity. We face the situation, find solutions and prepare for the future, the president said the day before the deputies gathered fourth extraordinary session of the IX Legislature of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament).

After highlighting the harmony between the measures taken by the government to face the situation and the popular response, Díaz-Canel, signed that it is not the work of chance, but the fruit of years of debates and search for the strongest roads to travel our socialism, in consultation with the people.

Discussions about the Constitution and about the most proactive ways of dealing with the external fence and internal obstacles have contributed a lot to that harmony, which is part of our revolutionary history, he said.

He also stressed the importance of, in circumstances of energy contingency, not touching reserves, appealing to creativeness, gathering experience and making savings, become a fundamental element in the development effort.

From this stage we leave stronger and with greater organizational capacity. We face the situation, find solutions and prepare for the future. The young people contributed an energy flow and we informed the population in a timely manner, counting on the people, as Fidel taught us, he said.

Today we have to work differently because we are living different times. Today we are better revolutionaries and better citizens. We have taught a resistance lesson, said Díaz-Canel.

This October 10, coinciding with the 151st anniversary of the beginning of struggles for independence of Cuba, the deputies will elect the president of the Republic and other high positions of the State, which complies with the letter of the Constitution approved in April.

In this historic session of the parliament, the president, vice president and secretary of that legislative body will be elected, who will occupy equal responsibilities in the State Council, as well as their members, as well as the vice president of the Caribbean country for the new mandate presidential.
