Artemisa, Cuba - New forest areas were planted in the municipality of Caimito in the current year with the purpose of preventing in the future the soil erosion, protecting rivers and lagoons, providing wood and producing oxygen for living beings, as expressed Domingo Lemus Pérez, head of the State Forest Service (SEF) in the town.
He explained that they recently completed the planting of thirty-three hectares of these plantations with the participation of the Genetic Livestock Company (EPG) Los Naranjos, the Costa Sur Forestry, the Agricultural Production Cooperative (CPA) Dionisio San Román, the Basic Unit of Cooperative Production (UBPC) November 14, and several entities of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR).
