Sanitation in Ariguanabo River

Artemisa, Cuba - A brigade, responsible for efficiently managing water resources, carried out sanitation work on the Ariguanabo river, located in San Antonio de los Baños, specifically from the Loma del Hielo to the bridge of Parque de La Alameda.
They belong to the Artemisa Hydraulic Resources Utilization Company, which is also part of Aguas de La Habana. The company has among its objectives to maintain the aesthetics of the areas where this natural symbol crosses, for example, La Placita, the dam and the gate of the Laguna. They also work in the South Dike area and the Guanímar and Cajío canals.
Sometimes they also collect garbage in the area's surroundings, although it is not part of their work content, says Armando Vázquez Pérez, one of the brigade breeders who has been working for approximately 12 years in this activity. In addition, every Monday they collect disposable cups, cans and solid waste, on the banks of the Ariguanabo River.
