Vietnam condemns US blockade against Cuba

Hanoi - Senior officials of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) condemned the US blockade against Cuba on receiving the head of the Ideological Department of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) Central Committee, Victor Gaute.
Three weeks before the UN General Assembly votes on a resolution against that genocidal measure, Vietnamese leaders also expressed their willingness to maintain cooperation with the Caribbean nation to help it overcome the US hostility.
During a working visit Gaute, also a member of the Secretariat of the PCC Central Committee, explained that this year has seen the tigthening of the cruel blockade, and in each case the reaction of the Vietnamese has always been the same: to continue alongside Cuba.
Vietnam will do everything possible to foster the traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and solidarity with the Party, State and the Cuban people, assured Tran Quoc Vuong, member of the Political and Permanent Bureau of the CPV Secretariat.
Gaute also attended meetings with Vo Van Thuong, also a member of the CPV Political Bureau and Secretariat and head of the Propaganda and Education Commission of the Central Committee, and with Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung.
