Ecuador's Minister of Economic and Social Inclusion resigns

Quito - The Minister of Economic and Social Inclusion of Ecuador, Berenice Cordero, tendered her resignation, without stating the reasons for the decision taken.
In the letter of request, circulating on social networks, the minister thanked the President of the Republic, Lenin Moreno, for the opportunity to serve the neediest sectors of the country.
According to the letter, the resignation has official validity from this day.
Cordero assumed the position in December 2017, replacing Ivan Espinel, investigated for peculation and sentenced to prison for money laundering.
Cordero announced his irrevocable resignation in the middle of a dialogue between the Government and the indigenous movement on fuel subsidies, after an 11-day national strike against the release in the prices of extra gasoline and diesel, as well as in rejection of other tax and labor measures, proposed by the President.

Fidel's presence was recalled in several Ariguanabo centers and institutions. Students from the Eduardo Abela Vocational School of Art, located in San Antonio de los Baños, paid tribute to the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, through dance and music.
