Minister says that housing construction in Cuba remains a priority

Havana - The Cuban Minister of Construction, René Mesa Villafaña, stressed in Matanzas that the national housing construction plan continues to be a priority and is going ahead as planned.
“There are already more than 29,100 completed homes this year, and we must comply with the annual plan that exceeds 32,000 and deliver an additional amount,” Mesa said.
He insisted that the solution to the current reality of the housing situation in Cuba is to increase, in each locality, the productive capacities of construction materials.
Regarding the goal of completing a house per municipality daily, he said that the construction capacity is expanding in each territory, and some places already have the machinery to aid the local construction material industry.
The minister of Construction pointed out that Guantánamo and Cienfuegos are the provinces with the best results in the housing program goals that seek to revert the current housing deficit.
