Artemisa, Cuba - Of great importance for social equilibrium, the work of the Mirando al Mar (Looking at the Sea) Detachments, composed by members of the CDR, results in the province of Artemisa, in those municipalities with coasts.

Its mission is, together with members of the Border Guard Troops, to intercept drug put in the waters or on the shores of the beaches, a substance that groups or traffickers in the Caribbean area throw into the water to avoid being discovered by the authorities.

To that end Artemisa has 17 Detachments Looking at the Sea, groups that next year will arrive at the 50th Anniversary of founded in the country.

They also have the mission of searching for naval means, possible infiltrations, illegal departures from the country and avoiding the entry of weapons to the national territory.

On the south coast of Alquízar there is 1 detachment active, Güira de Melena has 2, while on the north side Mariel has 7, Bahía Honda operates with 3, Bauta with 1 and Caimito has 3, a force that brings together more than 300 members.
