
Kabul - At least 25 civilians died on Friday during an attack by a Taliban-led group on a Khawja Bandkasha security post, according to Abdul Qayum Qani, governor of the Afghan district of Eshkamish, Takhar.
Among those killed in that northern site are 15 assailants and the rest were defenders, according to the source.
After the attack, the Afghan Army reported that it took control of Takhar province.
Meanwhile, the Taliban claimed a suicide attack against an army convoy in the eastern Afghan region of Jalalabad, where five people died, including two civilians, and 17 injured, according to local television network Tolo News.
