Artemisa, Cuba - The Playa Girón Guard Aviation Regiment, Antonio Maceo Order, in San Antonio de los Baños, ratified its solidarity and support for the international claim for the immediate release of former Brazilian President and leader of the Workers Party, Luis Inacio Lula da Silva.
Officials and civil workers of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) expressed their firm position before the unjust imprisonment of former Brazilian President, since April 2018.
During the political act, which preceded the process of collecting signatures to demand the immediate release of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, his work as President was highlighted as he achieved greater social equality and economic balance.
The signatures will be collected until October 28th in public institutions and study centers throughout the island, to commemorate Lula's 74th birthday, which will be next October 27th.
Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva remains in prison while waiting for the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court (STF) to review the possibility of prison in the second instance, which could release the leader of the Workers Party.
