Cubans Guerrero and Martinez earn the title in 2019 Santo Domingo Badminton Open

Osleni Guerrero and Leodannis Martinez gave Cuba the title in the men's doubles by beating Brazilian brothers Fabricio and Francielton Farias in the final of the 10th Santo Domingo Badminton Open 2019.
The Caribbean pair won 2-0 (21-19 and 21-16) in 34 minutes over the South American couple, first seed of the competition, according to the official website of the contest.
Guerrero, who could not repeat his last year triumph in the men´s single event, earned Cuba´s other medal in this tournament when ranking third by falling in semifinals 0-2 (19-21 and 18-21) to his everlasting opponent, Guatemalan Kevin Cordon.
However, Cordon – several-time winner of Pan American and Central American and Caribbean Games and leader of the organization chart– surprisingly lost in the final 0-2 (8-21 and 4-21) to Canadian Brian Yang, runner –up in Lima 2019 Pan Am Games.
The other crowns of this tournament all went to Brazil as Fabiana Silva beat 2-1 (21-13, 12-21 and 21-13) American Ruhi Raju in the women´s single event, while Jaqueline and Samia Lima defeated also 2-1 (21-12, 20-22 and 30-29) Canadians Camille Leblanc and Alexandra Mocanu in the women´s doubles.
Finally, in the mixed doubles, Fabricio Farias and Jaqueline Lima took the gold when winning 2-0 (21-16 and 21-16) over their compatriots Francielton Farias and Samia Lima.
