Cuban President congratulates Argentina's President-elect

Havana - Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Monday congratulated Argentina's President-elect Alberto Fernandez and his running mate Cristina Fernandez for the Sunday electoral victory in the South American nation.
The Argentine people have defeated neoliberalism, Diaz-Canel posted on his Twitter account where he reiterated the greeting to the Fernandez-Fernandez formula who defeated in first round with 48.10% outgoing President Mauricio Macri (40.37%).
More than 30 million Argentines were called to vote on October 27 and elect the new authorities, which will have a four-year term.
Argentine media outlets reflected that the general elections were held amid a deep social and economic crisis exacerbated after the financial assistance agreed between the Macri Government and the International Monetary Fund.
Along with former President Cristina Fernandez, Alberto Fernandez will took office on December 10.
