Cuba attends forum on small and medium enterprises in Italy

Rome - A Cuban delegation participates today in the 5th Forum on Small and Medium Enterprises organized by the Italo-Latin American Institute (IILA) in the northern Venetian city of Padua.

A note from the Cuban embassy in Italy indicates that the delegation headed by general director of Economy and Development of the Ministry of Agriculture, Alexis Rodríguez, is also composed of officials from the Ministry for Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment; and the Office of the Historian of Havana.

The event foresees the realization of workshops, presentations and bilateral meetings with the objective of knowing about experiences and potential of the Veneto region and identifying possible business interests in correspondence with Cuban socioeconomic development priorities.

The Cuban delegation also carries out a program of activities which include visits to companies in the industrial sector, dealing with footwear, food, agriculture, tourism and innovation, based in Padua.

According to the statement, Cuban presence in the Forum is part of the actions to expand and deepen the economic ties of the Antillean nation with this country, which are advancing in several sectors.

In that sense, he points out, there are greater complementarities and potentialities, in addition to the historical and cultural ties that contribute positively to bilateral relations.

At the event that takes place from 28 to 30 of this month, the Minister Counselor of the Caribbean diplomatic mission, Jorge Alfonzo, and the Counselor for Economic and Cooperation Affairs, Emma Liens, also attend.
