New community for tobacco growers

Artemisa, Cuba - Lázaro Peña Tobacco Collection and Benefit Company has as main goal to increase workers´ life conditions. So in Antonio Briones Montoto Basic Production Unit(UBPC) located in San Antonio de los Baños, they give the final touches of what will be the Community named First Communist Party of Cuba , in the former school that was turned into homes.
Eighty families from Capitan San Luis and Antonio Briones Montoto UBPC will be favored with this project, said Bladimir Andino, director of the company.
The constructive action includes an area that will function as a Kindergarten, to take care children while their mothers work, in addition to a warehouse where customers will go with their ration book, and a mixed classroom that will cover educational needs until ninth grade, Andino said.
Each family will be in charge of their own expenses: water consumption, electricity and food. However, housing will belong to the company; therefore, it is mandatory that, at least one member of the family , is linked to the company , the director said.
Before the end of the year, the departments, already equipped with hydraulic and sanitary installation, and aluminum carpentry must be delivered. The painting is in final stage.
The placement of electric meters and individualized reading, according to each house consumption , is also processed with the Basic Electric Organization.
