Russian businessman bets on future perspectives of working with Cuba

Artemisa, Cuba - The Director General of the Russian foreign trade company Kamaz, Rafail Gafieiev, said on Tuesday that the inauguration in Cuba of a service station for that brand's modern trucks opens up great work prospects.
This initiative will favor technical sustainability and the introduction of modern technology, Gafieiev told Prensa Latina at the opening ceremony in the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM), located in the western province of Artemisa.
According to Gafieiev, the station, which will offer national cargo and repair services with a 14-truck fleet in its first stage, will become Kamaz's flagship facility in Cuba.
'These are vehicles with greater technical possibilities and comfort,' he explained at the ceremony, which was attended by the Russian Ambassador to Havana, Andrey A. Guskov, and ZEDM Director General, Ana Teresa Igarza.
Gafieiev recalled that in the last 40 years, Cuba has received about 15,000 Kamaz trucks, of which more than 8,000 still circulate in the national territory.
For her part, Igarza said that the inauguration of the service station is a sign of the ties of friendship between Cuba and Russia.
Located in the province of Artemisa, ZEDM seeks to boost foreign direct investment in Cuba.
