Sola becomes Cuba first junior world sailing champion

Vladimir Sola became Cuba first universal junior champion when earning the title in the 2019 ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships that took place last weekend in Florida, United States.
Sola, along with Spanish Marc Selfa, reigned in the Boys´ Hobbie 16 class, in a competition attended by 10 boats from six countries.
Sola and Selfa finished fifth in the first regatta, but then reigned in the remaining three to win with final score of eight points.
Eduardo Rodriguez, Cuban National Sailing Commissioner, told JIT this event ranks as the most important of this sport in the Caribbean island in the present Olympic cycle.
