Moscow, Nov 12 Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) Summit in Brasilia on November 13 and 14, according to the Kremlin press service.

Putin will take part in a closed meeting with his counterparts from Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro; China, Xi Jimping; and from South Africa, Siril Ramaphosa; as well as with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.

The meeting will be the first part of the summit, which takes place in a country where protests by the population against Bolsonaro's use of dictatorial methods have intensified, local media highlight.

During the talks, the heads of State will address new challenges, global stability, regional security and the global economic situation, including protectionism and unfair competition.

The second phase of the summit will include an expanded format discussion of cooperation in the framework of the BRICS for economic development, reinforcement of mutual investments and a better international position of the quintet of countries.

At the end of the summit, the approval of the Final Declaration or Declaration of Brasilia is expected, which includes several initiatives, including the creation of a 5G network among the nations of the group, whose presidency Russia assumes next January.
