King of Spain honors Havana´s historian, Eusebio Leal

Havana - The King of Spain, Felipe VI, is presenting the historian of Havana, Eusebio Leal, this Wednesday with the Grand Cross of the Royal and Distinguished Spanish Order of Charles III, in the context of the 500th anniversary of this capital.
In the Palacio de los Capitanes Generales, the Spanish head of state, together with his wife Letizia, will also present the hand-woven Banner with Havana's coat of arms to the City Museum; they will receive a replica of the Giraldilla, a Havana symbol, and will hold a dinner of retribution, reports Prensa Latina.
The Royal couple, currently on the first official visit of Spanish monarch to Cuba, was received Tuesday in a solemn ceremony at the Palace of the Revolution by President Miguel Diaz-Canel.
Both heads of state spearheaded the signing of the Agreement for the Framework of Association Country Cuba Spain 2019-2022 in Matter of International Cooperation for the Development, subscribed by the foreign ministers of Cuba, Bruno Rodriguez, and of Spain, Josep Borrell.
According to the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the agreement is endowed with 57.5 million euros aimed at boosting productivity, sustainable territorial development and the consolidation of an effective public administration.
The royal couple also inaugurated on Tuesday an allegorical photographic exhibition of the links between the two nations, at the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso, where a dance show was offered in their honor.
According to the program of the visit, before traveling to the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba Thursday, Felipe VI and Letizia will go to the National Museum of Fine Arts to give, on loan, a self-portrait of Goya, and visit centers of scientific interest in the capital.
Cuba and Spain maintain relevant economic, commercial, investment, and cooperation links, making the European country the island's third-largest trading partner.
