Managua - Right now we have great support from the Bolivian people, stated Diego Pary, foreign minister of the government of president Evo Morales, who was forced to resign following a coup d'état this Sunday.
The Bolivian oligarchy never agreed to an indigenous person leading a process of change in the country, Pary said in the En Vivo morning show on Channel 4 of Nicaraguan television.
Pary arrived yesterday in Managua to participate this Thursday in the Political Council of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America.
The foreign minister confirmed that Evo Morales resigned from the presidency of the Plurinational State under pressure, since he was not willing to be responsible for the death of Bolivians, and to protect social movements.
In his speech he explained in detail the organization of the coup, which he said was a very well structured plane, as 16 days before the elections of October 20, opposition civic committees were already pointing to possible electoral fraud.
The coup that involved different actors responds to the class struggle, he stressed.
Pary referred to the history of corruption of the National Police of Bolivia, and explained that the government of Evo Morales had reduced police handling of certain State matters, for example immigration.
He drew attention to how the Police and Armed Forces, with a history of clashes, today work in a coordinated manner.
