The quality of Cuban Science

Artemisa, Cuba - Specialists from the National Laboratory of Parasitology, located in San Antonio de los Baños, represented Cuba in the First International Meeting on Organisms, Vectors, Involved in the Transmission of Zoonotic Entities. The event was held in Topes de Collantes, province of Sancti Spíritus, from November 11 to 15.
Doctors Alier Fuentes Castillo, Yunior Hernández Rodríguez and Rafmary Rodríguez Hernández participated with their research papers. One of the topics addressed during the event was ''The damage caused by vectors such as mosquitoes and ticks, both in human and animal health.''
Ariguanabo's laboratory was also present at the 8th International Congress of Veterinary Sciences, held at Havana International Conference Center. Laboratory specialists gave lectures on this subject and presented their research papers.
With the objective of exhibiting its scientific work, the National Laboratory of Parasitology has projects that reaffirm the quality of Cuban science.

The Los Cuenteros Puppet Theater Company celebrated its 50th anniversary this November 19 at the Museum of Humor, located in San Antonio de los Baños, with the exhibition ''Fifty years telling stories''. The exhibition shows photographs, puppets and costumes used by Los Cuenteros in various performances since 1969.
