Havana - The president of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel condemned this Wednesday the interfering actions promoted by the North American Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, which he considered to violate International Law.

On Twitter, the president rejected Pompeo's instigation of the U.S. embassy personnel here to intervene in Cuba's internal affairs.

In this regard, Diaz-Canel stressed that Cuba will not renounce its sovereignty and independence, in spite of Washington's hostile acts, including its policy of encirclement against Cuba.

Before that, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, also on Twitter, denounced the performance of U.S. Charge d'Affaires Mara Tekach, who is bent on recruiting mercenaries. Cuban authorities recently accused Washington of promoting a slander campaign for the arrest of counterrevolutionary Jose Daniel Ferrer, with a record of illegal acts.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs described as illegal the actions of the U.S. diplomatic representation, endorsed by Pompeo, and affirmed that these activities are against the Cuban constitutional order.
