Former Bolivian President denied legal immigration procedures

Mexico - Former president of Bolivia Evo Morales, denounced today the blockade of the coup regime to his legal immigration procedures and his ex-Vicepresident Álvaro García Linera at the consulate of his country in Mexico where they were given asylum.

In his Twitter account @evoespueblo, the ex-president reported that 'last week we started with Álvaro to process our passports in Mexico. They ask us to do it in writing, a requirement that did not exist but which we have met '.

He added they have had no answer. 'This violates the right to citizenship and identity. This is how the dictatorship is lived with a de facto government'.

In another tweet in the same account he indicates that, according to information from embassy officials, the system was cut only in Mexico on instructions from the Foreign Ministry in La Paz and they rejected the procedure to comply with the rules. This violates the rights of these former leaders.

Previously, I had informed that 'with Álvaro we have waited 1 hour and 45 minutes at the Consulate of #Bolivia in # Mexico to process the recognition of our attorney to present our Sworn Statement before the Comptroller General of the State'.

Also in his account @evoespueblo, in another order of things, he denounced that the 'de facto government of Añez, Camacho and Mesa is not mistaken in appointing Tuto Quiroga defender of his government'.

'An excellent decision because he is an expert defender of dictatorships. He was vice president of the dictator Hugo Banzer Suárez and an expert repressor of the people.

Immediately tweets followed that 'indigenous movements organized in social movements have given their lives for more than 500 years, fighting against colonialism and imperialism. Today the coup leaders talk about deideologizing relations with the brotherly people of Venezuela by mandate of #USA. They won't be able'.

He adds that international relations are to strengthen Bolivia's relations, not to submit to the IMF. 'The de facto government wants the plundering of NRN (natural resources), implementing a right-wing ideology without sovereignty and independence of the State, without identity and dignity of the people.'
