Messi and Idalis Ortiz get ballots in Prensa Latina survey

The Cuban Idalis Ortiz and the Argentinian Lionel Messi, obtained the media vote of Costa Rica in the Prensa Latina Survey to choose the best athletes in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2019.
On this occasion, both Teletica Radio and Spertv patented their support for both athletes, in the case of Ortiz, to ascend to the second position among women and as for Messi, to consolidate him in the 2nd place among men.
Ortiz, runner-up in the Tokyo World Championship and gold medalist in the Pan American Gmes in Lima this year, now files seven votes and escorts the Venezuelan triple jump athlete Yulimar Rojas, who files 21 ballots.
Also Cuban Yaimé Pérez, world champion in the Discus Throw, sits 3rd with 6 units while the Jamaican sprinter Selly Ann-Fraser is 4th.
Meanwhile, the recent winner of the Ballon D´Or and the FIFA The Best reached nine points and occupies the second position in the poll, behind the Colombian cyclist Egan Bernal (20), champion of the Tour de France .
In the category of best team in the region, the two media also chose Argentina's men's basketball team, China 2019 World Championship runner-ups.
Likewise, the Colombian cyclist Bernal, the Venezuelan Triple-Jumper Rojas, as well as the boxer Andy Cruz, Yaimé Pérez and the Greco-Roman wrestler Ismael Borrero all from Cuba, were selected by both media.
