From January 6 to July 3, 2020, the Alternative Cinema Master's Degree takes place at the International Film and Television School (EICTV), in San Antonio de los Baños.
As part of the study modalities of the center, which also includes the Regular Course, specialized workshops and short-term courses, this Master's Degree imparts the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for the development and materialization of a film project.
The Master's Degree was convened for university graduates, audiovisual professionals or artists who wish to develop a project. Its objectives are: to promote the development of artists capable of creating audiovisual works, independent of commercial producers to give free progress to the realities of the students' social, political and cultural context; In addition to training professionals with the freedom to choose the audiovisual works they want to create with a firm criteria.
Alternative cinema, expanded cinema, author cinema, oblique cinema and experimental cinema define this attitude of freedom, this will to create an art that explores. Therefore, Master's Degree differs from the commonly accepted official models. Upon completion of the Master's Degree, students must have finished a film, which the EICTV will promote.
