Moscow - Russia is doing a systematic and large-scale work to prevent the spread of the coronavirus 2019-nCoV and protect the population, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov said on Wednesday.
The work is carried out 24 hours a day, Peskov said, amid the work health authorities are doing to receive in Russia's eastern Tyumen the first two planes that arrived with citizens evacuated from China's Wuhan City, the epicenter of the recent coronavirus outbreak.
None of the travelers presented symptoms of any disease and less of the referred coronavirus, which already killed 492 people and infected 24,500 worldwide, although most cases were recorded in China, Moscow television states.
Only 911 patients have so far recovered, while China is seeking not only a universal medicine to eliminate the virus from infected patients, such an effective vaccine to prevent the spread of this disease.
Russia has been maintaining strong sanitary measures, including the closure of all railway communications with China, while maintaining an air link, through which only a restricted group of foreigners pass the Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport's Terminal F.
