Science in favor of tobacco production

Artemisa, Cuba - The Tobacco Research Institute, located in San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, offers its services for the production of aromatic tobacco leaves.

More than 85 projects have been executed during 2019 with significant contributions to the economy and the environment, including a new fertilization strategy, with a redesign based on soil protection and proper nutrition of tobacco cultivation.

This modification allows replacing imported fertilizers with national products. An organic matter disinfection project was also carried out, one of the most important soil components that allows the use of technified seedbeds. The Seed Pelletizing Center, as a high impact investment, places the tobacco sector at the level of first world countries.
