Artemisa, Cuba – This February 28 the National Monuments Commission will officially announce the declaration of the Las Terrazas Cultural Landscape, in the province of Artemisa, as National Monument of Cuba.
In that community, the Las Terrazas Archive project, memory and history of a cultural landscape will be presented, and the troubadour Silvio Rodríguez will offer a concert as part of his Tour for the Neighborhoods, dedicated to the 52 years of work of the workers of the Sierra del Rosario settlement.
That program favored the reforestation and the integral development of the area, with a town in harmony with the surroundings, to which the Moka hotel and other facilities were added to promote its tourist attractions.
The National Monument condition supports the historical, natural and architectural value of a site that is part of the Sierra del Rosario Biosphere Reserve.
