Government's combat plan against Covid-19 disapproved in Brazil

Brasilia - 64 percent of Brazilians today disapprove the plan to combat the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, adopted by Jair Bolsonaro's government, according to the results of a survey by the Atlas Politico consulting firm.

Published by CNN Brazil, the research indicates that among 1,900 respondents, 80 percent believe that the health system is not prepared to handle the increase in patients due to the virus and 73 percent believe that the situation will get worse.

For 38 percent, the crisis over Covid-19 will last up to six months and 28 percent believe it will last two to three months.

On the economic front, 57 percent consider that the country will enter a recession this year, 67 percent are afraid to leave their homes and 29 percent are wary of losing their jobs.

In total, 29 percent think that someone in the family will lose their job and 67 percent are afraid to leave home because of the new coronavirus, which, according to the Health Ministry, has so far killed five people and has 428 confirmed cases.

Shouts of out Bolsonaro dominated last night for the second day in a row the saucepans demonstrations in cities of states such as Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and Recife, due to the government's position on Covid-19.

These protests also described the ultra-right-wing president as a murderer of elderly people, since this is the segment of the population (from 60 to 80 years old) most at risk from the pathogen.

The population's reactions are a response to the former army captain's stance on the new coronavirus crisis.

While the government's health department announces daily actions and warnings about the spread of the disease in the country, Bolsonaro, on more than one occasion, minimized the issue.

The complex Simple Verses of José Martí

Havana - José Martí spent the hot month of August, 1890 far from New York City, in wooded mountains sparsely inhabited at the time, north of the homonymous state.

Thus, he followed the advice of doctors and friends, and while he savored that intimacy with nature, he took advantage of that moment away from his many daily chores to write verses. There, in the Catskill Mountains, he conceived the second and last book of poems that he would publish months later: Simple Verses.
