Cuba: Twelve new positive cases of Covid-19, total one thousand 741

Havana - The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) reported today 12 new people with Covid-19, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 1,741, while another patient died.

In his usual morning press conference, Dr. Francisco Durán, national director of Epidemiology of Minsap, reported that the positive patients are all Cubans, including 10 contacts of confirmed or suspected cases.

Duran mourned the death of a Cuban patient in the last 24 hours, for a total of 74.

Despite the efforts of the team of doctors from the hospital where they were admitted, this patient died from complications associated with the disease and other pathologies of her clinical picture.

The day before, a thousand 974 diagnostic tests were studied to confirm the presence of the coronavirus and to date, a total of 63 thousand 560 samples have been accumulated in people admitted as suspects and contacts of patients suffering from the disease.

Throughout this Caribbean island, a plan of measures is adopted to minimize the spread of the pandemic, with a multi-sectoral approach.
