Tegucigalpa - The three main political forces in Honduras and two other parties in the National Congress agreed unanimously to thank the solidarity work carried out by the Cuban Medical Brigade that fights the novel SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in this country.
Through this action in the Congress, the five parliamentary groups recognized in a public declaration on Thursday the support by the Cuban people and government in favor of the Honduran people.
The members of the Honduras-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group want to make public our sincere gratitude to the Cuban people for the support to Honduras and the world through the medical brigade known as 'the Henry Reeve International Contingent of Physicians Specialized in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics,' the note's headline says.
We praise the will of a people that, although it is subjected to an inhuman blockade by the administration of (US) President Donald J. Trump, does not put down or give in by hatred, on the contrary, it offers its heart to the world, the text says.
The Honduran legislators recalled that in the context of the current coronavirus pandemic globally, more than 1,370 Cuban health professionals are working to save lives in 22 nations around the world.
