Rosita Fornés is a great Cuban, values historian from Havana

Havana - The Historian of Havana, Eusebio Leal, today valued the vedette, Rosita Fornes, as a great Cuban, during the funeral of the artist that takes place in the capital Martí Theater.

With Rosita an era is gone, she deeply marked the century of Cuban art, encompassed the classical genres and was nourished by the Spanish source, said the intellectual in an interview offered to national television.

Leal recalled her presence on various stages of the continent, including Mexico, Argentina and the United States.

The historian from Havana made reference to the incursion of the outstanding dancer in the field of lyrical singing, in which she performed a wide repertoire of operettas and operettas such as Las Leandras, together with Rolando Ochoa; Los Gavilanes, La Verbena de la Paloma, La Revoltosa, Luisa Fernanda, La Duquesa del Bal Tabarin; from the directors Antonio Palacios and Miguel de Grandy.

I met Rosalía, the person, and Rosita, the artist. She, like Alicia Alonso, belongs to all times and will remain in the memory of the Cuban people who pay tribute to her, sentenced the intellectual.

He highlighted the character and kindness of the artist, whose strong personality, he stressed, shone when many thought that her art was not the art of the time.

Rosita is loved by all generations of Cubans. She always had her heart on the island that she never abandoned. His fame and his name will make her escape the two terrible snares: death and oblivion, stressed the historian.

Died at the age of 97, Fornés maintained as an act of last will that her remains rest in the family pantheon located in the Colón cemetery in Havana.
