New Delhi - India reported on Sunday more than 45,000 new Covid-19 cases for the fourth day in a row, a continuation of the accelerating pace of daily infections over the last few weeks.
This heavily populated South Asian country added this time another 48,661 SARS-Cov-2 cases to the national number of 1,385,522 people infected during the current pandemic. Meanwhile, the death toll caused by this disease increased by 705, that is a total of 32,063 deaths in this country.
At least 885,577 people have recovered from this disease so far, and 467,882 cases remain active, for a recovery rate of 63.92 percent.
On the other hand, the daily tests to detect the presence of this virus reached a new record, with 442,263 samples analyzed on Saturday.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 16,291,331 tests have been conducted.
