Welcome my second September 1st

Last page of my first diary. These were  the weirdest vacation in my life. A virus took us all out of school and sat us down to receive TV lessons at home. But when TV lessons  finished  to rest and play, in July and August, then we had to dedicate ourselves to putting together homeland album . And now we're going to have something that no one has ever had before. In the same school year , we will have two beginnings, because we start on September 1, 2019 and restart on September 1, 2020.

In addition, in the same year we will have two starts in just three months !: this and then on November 2. I imagine that we will be millions of unique students in the mankind  history.

We put the blame on  the new coronavirus, the one that they draw green and with little spikes  but it does  not look  like a soursop . Because of the  virus, many  friends were sick for many days; they were saved because of Cuban medicine, according to what my mother told me. Old people are not doing so well, neither  those living  in countries where everyone has to manage as best they can, because the government  doesn't care, as Dad told me.

I want to think that the world is going to get rid of this pandemic very soon. Dr. Durán says there is no cure yet, but at least the vaccine is almost ready. The one of  our country is called Soberana. Look what a coincidence; rhymes with cubana. That is also why I return to class, to learn science and save lives.

I guess a school is a building with a lot of walls and a future inside. There are the classrooms and two very important rooms: the computer lab, with its passage to the future ... and the library, with thousands of secrets of the past and present, available to all.

I  would wish  that  children from Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Mexico and the entire planet can learn again with their teachers, in safe schools like mine, with the right distance between each student, wash basin, water and chlorine solution to keep hygiene! , and wearing masks!

After several months at home , I return to where they are together, as they always should be, Martí and my flag. This time I do not have new  notebooks or books, backpack or uniform; on the contrary, some were filled with TV lessons, while the skirt hardly   fits me  because I  have got some pounds  . Anyway, it still looks like a first day.

Ah yes, during these strange vacations I released a diary. I got to the last page in the right  moment . I'm not going to tell any more about my days of games without going out, about football in the doorway and in a box with nails and a coin , about the pizzas we order so as not to go out for them, about my brother already with a mustache , mom helping me to find illustrations for the Homeland album.

I'm going to close it to devote  myself to notebooks again. Goodbye August! See you soon, holidays! Welcome my second September 1st !
