Paris - Benjamin Amar, leader of the French General Confederation of Labor (CGT, in French language), condemned on Friday the US blockade against Cuba and its tightening, a policy he described as unacceptable.
Interviewed by Prensa Latina, Amar, who is also a member of the national leadership of one of France's biggest unions, acknowledged the Cubans' resistance facing the hostility from the United States, located less than 200 kilometers from the small island.
Cuba resists and continues on its socialist way, despite the blockade and all propaganda to attack it, without their image is damaged, because it remains faithful to its ideas, he stressed.
Cuba represents an example of society focused on education and health of human beings and respect for the environment, Amar said.
The union leader reiterated his request to grant the Nobel Peace Prize to Cuba's Henry Reeve medical brigades, health professionals whom he considered an expression of a system focused on social justice.
