Havana - The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) on Friday informed about 24 new discharges, and now the Covid-19 recovery toll jumped to 5,702, that is 93.2% rate, one of the world's highest.
To detect the SARS-CoV-2 virus, 7,592 tests were carried out on Thursday and 56 individuals came back positive, 10 of them imported cases, as reported by Dr. Francisco Durán, national director of Epidemiology.
Out of 56 cases, all of them are Cubans, 24 are women and 32 men, and 40 of them were asymptomatic when test was conducted, Dr. Durán said.
Havana reported 19 new cases, Sancti Spíritus (12), Pinar del Río (11), Ciego de Ávila (4), Guantánamo (3), Camagüey and Granma (2 each), and Santiago de Cuba, Holguín and the Isle of Youth (1 each).
Dr. Durán detailed that the toll of pediatric cases amounted to 681, from which 648 are already discharged.
The specialist availed himself the opportunity to remind the infected Cuban children medically progressed in a positive and favorable way.
Nowadays, 290 people in Cuba are infected from Covid-19, and 285 of them have a clinically stable progress.
Plus, Dr. Durán reported that one person passed away in the last hours, so Cuba´s death toll rose to 124, while he also regretted the three people in serious condition and two in critical condition.
