Veracruz -Preliminaries in five weight classes will inaugurate today boxing competitions in the 22nd Central American and Caribbean Games Veracruz-2014.

The first matches in divisions 49, 52, 69, 75, 91 and more than 91 kilograms will open this discipline, but the medals will not be awarded until the 28th and 29th November.

On Saturday the competitions will be among fighters of 56, 60, 64 and 81 kilos and also the second round of 75 and over 91 kg.

Cuba's team is the great rival to be defeated, for its team has won plenty of Olympic and world medalists.

Cubans will try once again to get a sweep they have never achieved on multi-sports events, but fighters from Mexico, Colombia and Venezuela basically have quality to prevent it.
