Brazilian Actor Laments Lack of Promotion for Lat Am Films

Havana - Brazilian director and actor Carlos Alberto Riccelli, well-known worldwide for his role as Cesar Ribeiro in the soap opera Vale Tudo, lamented the lack of information on Latin American films due to the power of the US film industry.
"It is a cultural problem because US films have dominated the whole world except India, which has a very strong industry", Riccelli told the Prensa Latina news agency during the film festival of Havana.
Riccelli´s debut as director occurred in 2007 with the film "O signo da cidade".
Ricelli is one of the actors of the film "Traigo conmigo", directed by Tata Amaral, competing for the Coral Award in the feature-film category of the 36th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, which concludes on Sunday.
