Plenty to do in December

Since 1959, every January 1 st has been a rejoicing day for all Cubans. Since 2011, every January 9th , Artemisa province´s foundation date , has become a day of celebration for Artemisa settlers . Both reasons lead to a constructive movement aimed at the beautification of cities and towns, improving its infrastructure and solving the population complains.
Among the constructive actions to pay tribute to the 56 anniversary of the Revolution , it can be mentioned the repair of polyclinics in Mariel and Cabañas townships , as well as the remodeling of maternal home ; the beginning of the street lighting from Highway to Recodo, in Candelaria township ; and finish the population Care Office in Artemisa city.
San Cristobal, in addition to reopen the laundromat. It is expected to remodel the park and the entities located in the central road. Meanwhile, in San Antonio de los Baños the territorial cognitive disorders service, the municipal eyeglasses repair office and 10 th UJC Congress Square must be inaugurated.
In Alquizar township the elderly home will be reopened and Las 400 playground should be remodeled . It is expected to finish the mini-boulevard located on Avenida 91 between 80 and 82, paint the eight buildings at Dagame peoples council , and inaugurate local theather.
The development of constructive activities to pay tribute to those dates already mentioned, among other issues, were assessed by the province top leadership during an exchange with authorities and managers in each municipality.
Two conclusions emerged in every visit : the need to work hard to meet each task and offer people the holidays they deserve at the of the year .
Checking is Needed
Candelaria, San Cristobal and Alquízar townships face the challenge of becoming a reference in terms of image, public health and functioning of political and mass organizations. José Antonio Valeriano Fariñas, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, called the settlers to fullfil the task from their potential and progress, which is important for other municipalities.
The priorities for every Administration Council is to prevent displaying wrong posters , avoid botch in architectural and engineers work, maintain the cleanliness of the entrances to the towns and settlements. Without such steps our province will take too long to be a beautiful province.
According to Raul Rodriguez Cartaya, head of the Provincial Administration, financing and resources needed to fullfil the maintenance, remodeling and investments is available. But a systematic check should be performed by those responsible, Cartaya emphasized.
Social Indiscipline affecting the image
Artemisa province recovers beauty. Medical services increase. Streets and public transportation improves. However, accumulation of trash or garbage dumps in central areas, outskirts of cities, buildings gardens or parks, damage the image of the city and the health of people, since they become vectors proliferation place.
The main cause of such situation is social indiscipline, lack of specific sites to keep waste and inefficiency of the ones in charge of picking them. Communal services workers deserve our respect, but they must gain efficiency.
The food sale , when it violates the provisions on urban planning, also affects the environment: in San Antonio we can see the offer of soft drinks on the sidewalk on downtown street, and in the same place there are boxes of agricultural products, also on the sidewalk in front of an agricultural products market.
It will not be possible to make our cities more beautiful , if we do not have careful hygiene. We faced with rigor social indiscipline and built on time and with quality. The direction of the province monitors these issues, supports as necessary; but calls for every one´s cooperation .
During these days details of the celebrations of the end are being completed. We will address this issue in future editions . There is a commitment to offer the people what they deserve due to a whole stage of efforts and achievements.
