Raul Castro, Cuban Five attended Parliament Closing Ceremony

Havana - Cuban President Raul Castro attended the closing ceremony of the 4th Ordinary Period of the 8th Legislature of the National People''s Power Assembly (Parliament).
The meeting was also attended by the five anti terrorist fighters Rene Gonzalez, Fernando Gonzalez, Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, and Antonio Guerrero, the three last returned to Cuba last December 17.
The Five, as they are internationally known, were arrested in the U.S.1998, and condemned to long and unfair sentences in jail for informing Cuba about violent actions promoted from the US by extremist groups in Florida.
Among those invited to the Parliament closing ceremony was Elian Gonzalez, who was kidnapped by his relatives in the U.S. when he was a child, and after an international campaign he was returned to his father by the U.S. authorities.
The Hero of the Republic of Cuba Orlando Villavicencio, who was detained in Somalia for over a decade, also participated in the Parliament's closing ceremony.
In the Friday parliament session, which was also attended by the Cuban president, deputies discussed different topics on the national reality and were informed about plans for 2015.
Cuban Minister of Economy and Planning Marino Murillo called to continue improving the strategies for the development of the nation in productioon, trade, and services sectors.
In his speech, Murillo announced that the Cuban economy will grow 4 percent in 2015.
The minister of Economy and Planning said that Cuba continues improving the salary and pension system, and employees in the companies with more incomes will receive a higher salary.
The Parlaiment members also approved unanimously the State Budget Law for 2015.
