Cuban Immigrants in the US Support Restoring Relations

The research, conducted by the firm Bendixen & Amandi International and published by various media outlets in South Florida, showed that the new executive actions Obama have greater support among younger generations of Cuban immigrants, even born United States of parents from the island.
But separating results by age, among those under 65 years is majority support (18 to 29 years, 53 percent versus 36; 30 to 49 years, 47 percent versus 45; 50-64 years 58 percent versus 38), and the situation is reversed only among older (just 25 percent versus 67).
According to the survey, a majority of Cuban inmigrants support recent measures taken by Obama.
The investigation showed that the gap is not just generational but also by date of arrival in the United States. The 45 percent of people arriving from Cuba after 1980 support the restoration of relations between Washington and Havana.
A survey by the Florida International University in mid this year showed that a large majority of Cuban immigrants and their descendants supported a rapprochement between the two nations.
