Nicolas Maduro Sends Raul Castro Letter upon Release of Cuban Heroes

Havana, Cuba - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro sent Raul Castro a letter upon the release of the remaining three Cuban anti-terrorist fighters in US prisons.

With infinite joy we celebrate the definitive release of the Five Cuban Heroes, said Maduro in his letter and noted that the action closes one of the so many shameful chapters of US intervention-oriented and criminal policy.

More than just a good news, this entails the real possibility that the United States recognizes the sacred right of Cuba to exist freely and with sovereignty, he said and added that in this occasion Chavez is present and that the strength of truth prevails after so many years, as well as the love of a whole nation, dignity and moral of Revolutionary Cuba, which have defeated the empire once again.

But there is still a long way to go in order to have Washington recognize that ¨we are no longer in its backyard, and to lift the criminal blockade of the homeland of Marti and Fidel." However, this is a very important step so that the United States understands that here in our homeland, there is a change of epoch and that the Bigger Homeland changed forever and will not return to the past, concluded Maduro with words of praise for Chavez, unity, independence, socialism and victory.
