Awards for Journalistic Talent

Artemisa, Cuba - Artemisa journalism professionals had a joy day during the award of January 17 Provincial Journalism Competition in its fourth edition, the award ceremony was worth to recognize the most relevant works published in the provincial media in 2014.

In Printed Press, Yusmary Romero and Joel Mayor from el artemiseño newspaper shared the top prize for the works , Direct Marketing ...? and When are prices low ? The capital deserves a good ice cream parlor, respectively. María Caridad Guindo and Miguel Terry won the second and third awards.

In the Chart section, the photo reporter Othniel Márquez won first and third prizes, while his colleague Humberto Lister won second place.

Olga Lidia Noa won first prize in tv press with a chronic on the Day of Medicine. Also, Yarima Córdova and Rommell Gonzalez got second and third prizes respectively.

Digital Press jury awarded the first and third prizes to journalist Miguel Terry Valdespino, while Mayor Joel won the second place.

Radio journalists also knew , in the opinion of the jury, the best works in 2014. Carlos Enrique Rodriguez got third place , the second for Odalis Acosta and first prize for filmmakers Anaily Moreno and Yadiel Martin .

Like every year, journalists competed in the special theme, this year dedicated to Gender and Communication. The prize in this section went to journalist Milena Almeida Seijo.

During the day which was attended by Eduardo Cruz, member of the Provincial Bureau of the Party; Juan Carlos Ramirez, member of the National Executive of the Union of Journalists in Cuba (UPEC) and Odalis Acosta, UPEC president in Artemisa province, journalists paid tribute to fellow radio Maricela Menendez, recently deceased.
