Significant Building Materials Production in 2014

Artemisa, Cuba - Marmolina, plastic hoses, hydraulic connections, electrical boxes, wooden frames as well as doors and windows made of molten aluminum stand out between the lines of increased production during 2014 in the Provincial Company for Food Productions and Sundry Items.
According to Cándido Reinoso, technical director of Soundry Articles department in the entity, 23 lines of productions of the 24 planned ,were made for the housing program, more than in 2013. They assumed the manufacture of nine productions out of the plan such as step ladders, brushes and valves for water tanks. Municipalities having best results are Caimito, Guanajay, Bauta, Guira de Melena and San Cristóbal.
According to Reinoso, the province has greater capabilities for the local manufacture of construction materials and expect to install in 2015 three injection machines for the manufacture of hydraulic connections, a machine for making hoses and two mills for processing plastic. Candido added that they had raw materials to assume the plans related to plastic products.
The manufacture of sanitary connections made of clay will begin in the second half of the year in San Cristóbal and San Antonio de los Baños.
