Cuban Ballet School has one name: Fernando Alonso
Havana - Government and cultural personalities unveiled today a plaque accrediting the name of the emblematic pedagogue Fernando Alonso to the national ballet school.
The National Cuban Ballet historian, Miguel Cabrera, extolled the founder of the company and the academy and his technical sense and his intellectual and scientific worry to assume art as an act of thought. Cabrera explained that the pedagogical forum Fernando Alonso in memoriam held last October under his conduction, exposed the international transcendence of the maestro of most of the jewels of the Cuban ballet.
The Latin American legacy of Alonso arrived to us with the Argentinean star Julio Bocca, while French professor Cyril Atanasoff showed the correction of the Paris school, where the Cuban gave classes in the year 2000, declared the historian to Prensa Latina.
The debt we have with the maestro is only payable by the ballet students with constance and consecreation to work, sustained Cabrera.
Fernando Alonso can never be remembered with sadness, assured the National Prize of Dance 2014, Silvina Fabars.
The first dancer of the National Folkloric company talked about the usefulness of this professor in any manifestation of the art, as he gave recommendations not only to classic dancers but to all kinds of artists in this country.
On her part, the President of the National Council of Scenic Arts, Gisela Gonzalez, showed great satisfaction of complying a unanimous agreement of the 8th Congress of the National Union of Writers and Artists (Uneac).
The Minister of Culture, deputy ministers, numerous National Prizes of Culture, dancers and students attended this tribute to the creator of the methodology of the Cuban ballet school, which he worked in the company with Alicia Alonso and other universal figures of the dance.
The youngest generation of apprentices showed some of the reknowned qualities of the Cuban ballet and the students Amanda Perez and Carlos Patricio Revé interpreted with elegance the pas de deux of the classic, Sleeping Beauty, very estimated by maitre Alonso.
At the end of the cultural act, director of the National Ballet School Fernando Alonso, Ramona de Saa, distinguished the work of young professor Yuneisy Rodriguez and other teachers of the institution.
The visible face of our work are its dancers, but behind each good artist, there is a good teacher, remembered this National Prize of Dance to stress even more the importance of naming the School in reward to such a dignified labor as that of teaching.
