Investments advance in the Mariel Development Zone

Artemisa, Cuba - In its second phase entered the investments on the Railroad of Cuba in the Mariel Development Zone, at the beginning of the link of the capital municipality of Artemisa with the route Almendares - Mariel Port.
Juan Francisco Morales, Director of the Western Railway Company, said that when the new stretch commence it will pass through six territories of the province of Artemisa, and is going to save about two hours of trip from the provincial capital and the Cuban capital.
He added that in the Mariel Development Zone, also operate modern passenger and freight stations operating in the towns of Guanajay, Bauta and El Cano, which provide cafeteria services and selling of tickets.
Finally, he said that the workers of the sector celebrated their day this January 29, boosting other important works which revive rail transport in Artemisa.
